ISSUED FOR MOUNT WEDGE
Weather over the fireground has improved conditions for firefighters with cooler temperatures and higher humidity overnight expected to provide relief for crews that will be working through the night to slow the fire's spread and protect properties.
Smoke is continuing to be pushed by winds towards the townships of Minnipa, Kyancutta and Wudinna and a smoke advice message is current for these areas. The public is asked to stay clear of the fireground around Mount Wedge due to the current conditions and firefighting operations.
Crews will be working in the coming days to minimise the impact to local communities, and it is expected that firefighters will remain on scene over the next few days to contain the fire and eventually make the area safe.
