Bus fire at Senior - 24 November 2023
CFS crews were called to a bus fire on Red Bluff Road at Senior in the state’s south-east at 8:15am.
Four CFS crews and one CFS command vehicle, with a total of 17 CFS volunteers attended the bus fire and were supported by SAPOL.
Firefighters arrived on scene to find the 36-seater school bus on fire. All passengers were safely evacuated from the bus prior to CFS arrival and have since been transported to their intended destinations.
CFS crews have fully extinguished the fire and have now left the scene. Road access and traffic control is currently being determined by local council.
While the bus was destroyed, firefighters successfully prevented any further spread of fire. Losses are estimated at $120,000 and no cause has yet been identified.
