Truck fire on Port Wakefield Highway - 31 May 2024

5 CFS crews with approximately 25 firefighters have saved the prime mover and first trailer of a B-double after the rear trailer caught alight. The truck, carrying groceries out of Adelaide, has an estimated damage amount of $500,000. The driver exited the vehicle safely. The fire cause is believed to be a wheel bearing.

SA Police have closed the Port Wakefield Highway Northbound from Wild Horse Plains. If in the area please drive to conditions. Crews remained on scene working to extinguish the fire. SA Ambulance are also in attendance supporting firefighters.
