CFS aircraft training next week

The SA Country Fire Service (CFS) will be conducting two days of aviation training exercises on Wednesday, October 21 at Red Creek (near Woodchester) and Thursday, October 22 in Kuitpo Forest. Residents in the surrounding area should not be alarmed by the presence of the aircraft.
CFS Manager State Aviation Operations David Pearce said the exercise will involve four aircraft conducting up to six exercises per day.
"This training is an important part of the pre-season aircrew skills maintenance training program and is designed to give CFS air operations personnel practical exercise in the control and coordination of firebombing aircraft," Mr Pearce said.
"Air operations personnel will also be refining their skills in the aerial mapping of fires and ground to air communication."
"We're reminding the community to not be concerned if they see aerial firefighting and surveillance aircraft operating in and around the Red Creek on Wednesday and Kuitpo Forest on Thursday," Mr Pearce said.
Aircraft will be operating from the Pallamana Airfield, near Murray Bridge, so residents in that area should also not be concerned.
The exercise will commence at 09:30am and continue until 4.30pm on both days.
