The slope of a property can affect the behaviour and speed of a bushfire, with fire traveling faster and with greater intensity when on an uphill slope.
If your property has a slope on either the Northwestern or Eastern zone you will need to measure the degree of the slope.
The easiest methods for measuring the degree of a slope is to either use a clinometer (also known as a tilt meter), or to use the "walking method", which can easily be done without having to purchase any equipment.
