Occupants escape Mid North house fire
5/03/2013
CFS firefighters were called to a house fire about 12 kilometres south-west of Dublin in the Mid North overnight.
The alarm was raised just after 2.30am when the two occupants of the timber-framed portable home at Gull Court, Thompson Beach were woken by a smoke alarm.
Both evacuated safely and rang Triple Zero.
CFS crews arrived a short time later to find the home fully involved.
Despite the efforts of 20 firefighters from four Brigades, the house was severely damaged by fire which started in a bedroom.
The damage is estimated at around $250,000.
Fire cause investigators are at the scene but are not treating it as suspicious.
