HAZMAT INCIDENT KERSBOOK

The CFS is responding to a HAZMAT incident at the Cold Stores on the southern boundary of Kersbrook, on the South Para Road, where a strong smell of ammonia has been reported.

The CFS has dispatched three HAZMAT crews to the location from the Dalkeith, Oakbank/Balhannah and Nuriootpa Brigades to deal with the incident. Eight HAZMAT specialists and 14 firefighters are on the scene.

The South Para Road into and out of Kersbrook has been blocked by SAPOL while crews attend the incident.

The public is advised that HAZMAT incidents can be lengthy and motorists are advised to seek alternative routes.

Further information will be provided should the incident escalate.
