ANGLE VALE NORTHERN EXPRESSWAY FIRE
ISSUED FOR ANGLE VALE
SA Country Fire Service and SA Metropolitan Fires Service Crews have successfully controlled an incident which started on Friday after burning 70 hectares of grass and scrub and destroying or damaging a number of structures. A number of very large trees located in the Gawler River remain burning and it is too dangerous for crews to access. Because of these trees and the steep banks of the river, building containment lines north of the river on the east and western edge of the fire is not possible. As a result, this fire will continue to smoulder and produce smoke for the coming days. Smoke will continue to be noticed in the Gawler and Angle Vale areas.
CFS and MFS crews will continue to monitor. Those living in the area should remain vigilant and know what to do if conditions change.
