Information for the Binnum Fire
ISSUED FOR BINNUM
The Binnum Fire in the Lower South East, approximately 15 kilometers North East of Naracoorte is being attended by the SACFS and continues to burn freely in scrub.
On scene at the incident are 5 CFS and 2 CFA fire trucks and a bulk water carrier. The fire is burning in scrub and will continue to burn into to Saturday. SACFS, assisted by CFA personnel will be remain on scene until this incident is under control. Conditions are continually changing due to the erratic wind being observed on ground.
Heavy machinery has been deployed to this incident to assist in establishing mineral earth breaks to the fires parameter. An aerial observation flight is due to be conducted to assist with incident planning and forward prediction.
The Binnum fire currently poses no threat to the surrounding communities. Should conditions changes, an appropriate warning to the community will be issued by the SACFS.
