Grass fire in Binnum
ISSUED FOR BINNUM
The SA Country Fire Service (CFS) advises that there is a bushfire near Naracoorte in the State's South East.
CFS currently has 7 trucks attending, with 27 volunteers and is being supported by 20 Farm Fire Units.
The fire was caused by a lightning strike and has now burned approximately 100 hectares of scrub and farmland. The fire is now contained, however there are a number of trees still candling - or burning from inside the trunk and presents a significant hazard.
CFS crews will remain on site into the night, ahead of the warm and patchy rain conditions tomorrow.
South Australia is experiencing a significant number of dry lightning strikes, and the CFS urges anyone who sees an unattended fire to please call 000.
