At approximately 1:00 am, the Country Fire Service was alerted to a haystack fire 11km South of Minlaton on the Yorke Peninsula.
Crews are currently separating hay bales to extinguish any hot spots. This process is causing a significant amount of smoke over Harry Butler Road and Rogers Road travelling in a North Easterly direction.
Motorists around this area may experience reduced visibility and are encouraged to proceed with caution. Residents with breathing difficulties should remain indoors with the windows and doors closed or move to a location away from smoke.
