COLES FIRE NEAR LUCINDALE IN THE LOWER SOUTH EAST
ISSUED FOR COLES
CFS remains in attendance at the Coles fire near Lucindale in the state's lower southeast.
More than 165 firefighters have been working to halt the spread of the fire with the assistance of heavy plant machinery, aerial firefighting resources, Farm Fire Units, and forest industry crews (including, PF Olsen Crews and Australian Bluegum Plantations).
There have been outbreaks on the south eastern corner, and smoke will continue to be seen and smelt by residents in the areas to the south, southwest and west of the fire.
The fire continues to burn in plantation areas, bluegum slash, and the surrounding grassland, however, the fire is having no direct impact on buildings and livestock.
Additional fire crews have been brought in from across the State to assist local fire crews who continue to work along the fire's perimeter to keep it within the fire containment area.
The fire may flare up during the day.
The community is reminded to stay vigilant and monitor conditions throughout the next few days as it is expected that the conditions will continuously change.
