COLES FIRE NEAR LUCINDALE IN THE LOWER SOUTH EAST
ISSUED FOR COLES
Earlier this evening, the Coles Fire broke the control lines that had been established in an attempt to control the fire. As a result the fire is currently burning out of control. CFS crews supported by Forestry Industry brigades, DEW, CFA (Victoria) and Farm Fire Units will be working on the fireground overnight and into the coming days. There are approximately 40 fire trucks and 150 firefighters in the area.
Firefighting efforts are being supported by SAPOL, Salvation Army, SES and St Johns.
The following roads have been closed in the area:
Khayyam Road to Legges Lane,
Legges Lane at Conmurra intersection,
Legges Lane at Andres Lane intersection,
Conmurra Road and Andres Lane,
Lucindale Road and Clay Wells Road,
Clay Wells and Diagonal Roads,
Callendale and Elad Roads,
Ellison's Road to Callendale Rd, and,
Spence Road is only accessible to bona fide residents, emergency services and relief agencies.
