Dukes Highway between Coombe and Keith in the Upper South East of South Australia

The CFS is attending a number of fires near the Dukes Highway between Coombe and Keith in the Upper South East in of South Australia. All the fires have now been contained and a reduced threat message issued.
Approx 70 CFS firefighters assisted by DEW crews and 50 private farm fire units
People traveling on the Dukes Highway will need to be aware that although the highway is now open firefighters will be continuing to work in the area for some time and there may be some smoke drift across the highway. Motorists should remember that the speed limit past all emergency services vehicles is 25kph and that temporary speed restrictions may apply in the area.
Although the threat to the public has reduced, fire and smoke will be present in the area for some time. Firefighters will continue to monitor the fires and will be working on the making the area safe.
