Incident update for hayshed fire on Venning Road, Coonalpyn
Issued for COONALPYN in the Upper South East/Coorong area.
Three CFS crews are currently assisting a owner of a property on Venning Road, Coonalpyn to contain a hayshed fire.
The shed contained 200 x 600kg square wheaten hay bales.
Damages to the shed and hay are estimated at $72,000.
The hay bales will continue to burn through out the night and will be monitored and patrolled by the owner.
Smoke may increase tomorrow (Monday) morning as machinery is used to pull apart the remaining hay and extinguish the bales.
The hayshed is currently burning about 2.5km east of the township of Coonalpyn and is not posing a risk to the community.
