Update for Cudlee Creek Fire

ISSUED FOR CUDLEE CREEK

CFS advises that the Cudlee Creek fire is still Controlled.

CFS crews will continue working across the fireground for the foreseeable future to ensure that hot spots and flare ups are extinguished and the fireground continues to remain controlled.

Whilst weather conditions have improved the CFS advises the public to remain watchful as there is increasing fire danger weather forecast from Wednesday 8th Jan 2020. If members of the public witness any unattended visible flames please call 000.

Smoke will continue to be present across the area and this may pose a health risk to some people.

In the meantime, the following relief centre is continuing to operate daily from 7am to 7pm until Sunday 5th January.

The Mount Barker Relief Centre will remain operating daily until 7pm on Wednesday 8 January, 2020.

A Recovery Centre will open on Monday 6 January in Lobethal whereby the Highbury and Mt Barker Relief Centres will relocate to the Lobethal site.

A Community Recovery Meeting is being held on Monday 6 January 2020 at 7pm at the Woodside Hall, 30 Onkaparinga Rd, Woodside.

Road access is being continually reviewed and roads may close at short notice as remediation work continues to be undertaken by the Department for Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) and local councils. There is still the threat of falling branches, trees and wandering stock on roads. A large amount of road signage has been damaged adding an extra risk to road travel. Refer to www.traffic.sa.gov.au for the latest information.
