Incident Update for Cudlee Creek fire in the Mount Lofty Ranges

There is a Watch and Act Message in place for this fire.

The Cudlee Creek fire remains uncontrolled and continues to burn in a northerly direction. There are still multiple townships and structures under threat.

The areas of most concern are near Gumeracha and Cudlee Creek. There are many patches of unburnt vegetation throughout the fire ground, and fire continues to actively burn in the area.

Winds will continue throughout the day coming from South-South East.

Multiple road closures are in place and Police are in attendance. Visit www.traffic.sa.gov.au for a full list of closures.

Roads will remain closed for some time due to the significant risks associated with falling trees, areas of active fire and large amounts of emergency service vehicles. There are many hazards and reports of very large trees and other obstructions across roads. Plesae remain patient as it may take some time for roads to reopen.

Back-burning operations may occur throughout the day to strengthen and hold the fire edges, and as a result there may be increased smoke in the area

Other support agencies will also be in the area undertaking assessments of road conditions, power supply and damage sustained to properties.
There will also be aircraft operating on this fire throughout the day.

A community meeting for local residents will be held at 1.30pm today at the Oakbank Area School, 154 Onkaparinga Valley Road, Oakbank.
