CUMMINS GRASS FIRE
Issued for CUMMINS IN THE LOWER EYRE PENINSULA OF SOUTH AUSTRALIA between CUMMINS AND YEELANNA ON THE TOD HIGHWAY.
There is a grass and scrub fire approximately 8 km north of Cummins, in the Lower Eyre Peninsula of South Australia.
CFS volunteers on 9 trucks, supported by 4 fixed wing Bombing Aircraft, South Australia Police and Farm Fire Units have prevented the fire from spreading to adjacent properties and farmland.
Roads have been closed due to this incident, including:
-Tod Highway between Yeelanna and Cummins
-Wildeloo Road and Tod Highway, north of Cummins.
It is unknown when the roads will be reopened. Visit traffic.sa.gov.au for more information on road closures.
Emergency services may be working on and around roads in the area, and motorists are advised to stay away. If you need to travel on roads in the area, please take care and drive to the local conditions.
Smoke is impacting roads in the area and the township of Cummins and Port Lincoln, and visibility may be reduced. To ensure your safety and that of firefighters and other emergency personnel who are working in the area, please do not enter the area unless necessary.
