ISSUED FOR DUNCAN

The Coopers Road fire at Duncan, on Kangaroo Island, is still moving in a northerly direction towards the coast. The fire behaviour is constantly changing due to high winds, changing fuel types and the hilly terrain it is burning in.

Fire crews are working hard, trying to bring this fire under control but the conditions and terrain are not assisting the crews with there efforts.

To ensure your safety, and that of firefighters and other emergency personnel, please do not enter the area unless necessary. Hazards may include reduced visibility due to smoke, fallen trees blocking roads and emergency vehicles operating in the area.

Residents in the area are advised to remain vigilant and to continue checking and following your Bushfire Survival Plan.

Stay tuned to your local ABC on a battery-powered radio for updates.
