FISHER

Incident Update for Fisher Bushfire.

Issued for FISHER near SWAN REACH IN THE MURRAYLANDS.

There is a scrub fire at FISHER on the western side of the river to Swan Reach in the Murraylands, South Australia.

A warning message has been issued for the Fisher Bushfire. Refer to the CFS website cfs.sa.gov.au for the most up to date warning information.

The fire is believed to have been started from lightning strikes in the area earlier today.

The fire is continuing to burn in difficult to access scrub and is 60 hectares in size. The fire is burning in a north to north-easterly direction.

Firefighters from the Country Fire Service and National Parks and Wildlife Services SA, supported by water bombing and observational aircraft and heavy machinery have made significant progress to containing the fire.

Crews will remain on scene overnight and into tomorrow to contain and extinguish the fire.

Residents near the Punyelroo area should remain aware and informed, however the fire is not currently posing a risk to the public.

As the emergency services continue to work in the area, motorists are advised to stay away. If you need to travel on roads in the area, please take care and drive to the local conditions.

This fire will be causing smoke in the area, and members of the community are urged to take care.
