INCIDENT UPDATE - FORSTER LEN KROEHNS LOOKOUT FIRE

ISSUED FOR FORSTER LEN KROENS LOOKOUT, WALKER FLAT

The SA Country Fire Service (CFS) advises that the Forster fire has now been contained. The threat from this fire has reduced, however people are reminded to take care in the area. The fire continues to smoulder in reeds on an island in inaccessible terrain, and smoke will be visible throughout the day.

CFS and DEW crews will be on scene throughout the day today monitoring the fire and mopping up, however the community are advised that this fire will likely be active for several days.

Residents are advised to check their properties for the presence of fire or embers - especially in roof spaces, under decks, raised floors and in gutters.

Initial reports indicate that one pump shed was destroyed and approximately 50 hectares of native scrub and grassland have been burnt.

There are currently no road restrictions in place, however to ensure the safety of emergency service personnel working along roadsides, road users are reminded that the speed limit is 25 km/h when passing vehicles with flashing lights operating.
