Issued for FOX at Callendale near Lucindale.

The CFS is responding to a scrub fire at Fox, about 40 kilometres from Lucindale in the Lower South East.

The fire is currently burning within a large patch of private native scrub under the influence of strong winds.

Approximately 80 CFS volunteers on 20 trucks, one CFA strike team and Forestry firefighters are currently working on the fireground, supported by seven aircraft, including firebombers and observational aircraft.

Due to the thick and difficult terrain two Large Air Tankers are being deployed to the fireground to assist in creating retardant lines.

Heavy plant machinery is also being deployed to assist in creating mineral earth breaks.
