Fox Scrub Fire
Issued for FOX at Callendale near Lucindale.
Firefighters remain on scene at the Fox Fire, about 40 kilometres from Lucindale in the Lower South East, which is uncontrolled and burning in a north easterly direction.
The fire is burning within a large patch of private native scrub and plantation timber and has burned approximately 288 hectares. Conditions are continually changing and this fire is expected to continue for sometime. People in the area are reminded to remain vigilant.
More than 100 volunteers from CFS and CFA supported by Forest Industry Brigades and Farm Fire Units have been working hard throughout the day to control the fire. A NSW RFS Large Air Tanker from ACT and another from Victoria were deployed to work with SA based aircraft in support of firefighters on the ground. The operations are also being supported by SA Police.
CFS crews will remain on site overnight to continue work to control the fire.
Emergency services may be working on and around roads in the area, and motorists are advised to stay away. If you need to travel on roads in the area, please take care and drive to the local conditions.
Roads have been closed due to this incident and it is unknown when they will be reopened. Callendale Road from the intersection of Black Range Road and Reid Road is closed. A full list of current road closures is available at: traffic.sa.gov.au.
