BARRIER HIGHWAY
ISSUED FOR GILES CORNER in the Mid North
Country Fire Service is currently responding to a truck fire on private property near the Barrier Highway and Horrocks Highway. The truck is transporting hay that has caught alight and is producing a significant amount of smoke in the area and will do for some time.
Crews are working to extinguish the fire and are working on the road. The Barrier Highway is currently closed. If passing through the area please be cautious of emergency service personnel working on the road. Smoke in the area may reduce visibility. Please follow traffic directions and 25km/h speed limit when passing emergency vehicles with flashing lights.
