Electrical substation fire creating large smoke plume
ISSUED FOR GOULD CREEK
There is an electrical substation fire at Black Top Road near Willison Road, at Gould Creek in the northern Mount Lofty Ranges, South Australia.
A smoke advice message has been issued for this structure fire.
Refer to the CFS website cfs.sa.gov.au for the most up to date warning information.
An electrical transformer and oil tank are burning.
Approximately seven CFS crews, three MFS crews and two CFS bulk water carriers are attending the fire.
Crews are now actively fighting the fire, with varying plumes of smoke emitting while they attack certain areas.
Smoke from this fire may contain toxic particles and people with breathing difficulties should remain indoors with windows closed until the smoke abates.
Black Top Road and Willison Road will be closed until the fire is brought under control.
People should avoid the area.
