Haines fire
The CFS is continuing to respond to a grassfire near Haines on Kangaroo Island, South Australia.
Approximately 30 CFS volunteers on 6 trucks will be working throughout the day to extinguish hotspots around the fire perimeter. They will be replaced by local crews later this afternoon, who will continue to monitor the fireground until the area is safe.
The cause of the fire remains undetermined and is being investigated.
Roads remain closed due to this incident, including:
- Boundary Road
- American River Road
At this time it is unknown when these roads will be reopened. Emergency services may be working in and around the area, and motorists are advised to stay away. If you need to travel on the roads in the area, please take care and drive to the local conditions.
