HYNAM FIRE

The Country Fire Service advises crews are working to extinguish a haystack fire at Hynam near Naracoorte in the Lower South-East.
CFS volunteer firefighters on five fire trucks and one bulk water carrier are being supported by local Farm Fire Units and heavy machinery such as excavators.
Crews are spreading out the hay to extinguish hot spots and this is causing a significant amount of smoke and reduced visibility in the area. People with breathing difficulties should remain indoors and close windows and doors or move to another location to avoid being impacted by smoke.
Other hazards to look out for include the emergency services vehicles operating in the area.
