HYNAM FIRE
Issued for HYNAM near Naracoorte in the Lower South-East of South Australia.
The Country Fire Service advises crews are working into the night to extinguish a haystack fire on Cromper Road at Hynam near Naracoorte.
Crews on five trucks and a Bulk Water Carrier have undertaken back burning around the haystack and removing dry grass, to ensure the fire doesn't escape in elevated fire conditions on Sunday.
They are being supported by local Farm Fire Units and heavy machinery such as excavators. Please avoid the area if possible due to the number of emergency services vehicles.
The burning haystack is causing a significant amount of smoke and reduced visibility. People with breathing difficulties should remain indoors and close windows and doors or move to another location to avoid being impacted by smoke.
