BASCOMBE WELLS CONSERVATION PARK FIRE
ISSUED FOR BASCOMBE WELLS CONSERVATION PARK, KAPPAWANTA, approximately 20kms west of Lock township.
The SA Country Fire Service (CFS) advises people in and around the Bascombe
Wells Conservation Park, near Kappawanta on the Eyre Peninsula that smoke may be visible.
The cause of the smoke is fire from a lightning strike in the Bascombe Wells
Conservation Park.
The forward rate of spread has been halted and the majority of the burnt area is located on private land north of the Conservation Park, approximately 4kms south of Birdseye Highway.
CFS crews, Aircraft and DEW resources are on scene undertaking suppression
activities including constructing control lines.
SA Police are on scene undertaking traffic management on Birdseye Highway.
