Katarapko Island Fires
Issued for KATARAPKO ISLAND approximately 10 km from Berri in the Riverland, South Australia.
The CFS, Department for Environment and Water and SA State Emergency Services are continuing to respond to multiple ignitions near Katarapko Island.
Firefighters will remain on the fireground throughout the day to manage these fires, and will be supported by aircraft and boats.
These fires do not currently pose a threat to the community, however, smoke will be visible for some distance.
You should stay informed and be aware of the health impacts of smoke on yourself and others.
Emergency Services may be working on and around the roads in the area, and motorists are advised to stay away. If you need to travel on the roads in the area, please take care and drive to the local conditions.
