Scrub and Grass Fire at KEILIRA
Issued for KEILIRA and MARCOLLAT in the LOWER SOUTH-EAST of South Australia.
The CFS is currently responding to a fire in remote scrub and grassland near Rowney Road, between Keilira and Marcollat in the Lower South-East of the state.
Four CFS trucks with 20 firefighters are working to prevent the fire from spreading further into paddocks and protecting assets. Additional resources such as bulk water carriers and earth moving machinery are also enroute.
Ground crews are being supported by four fire bombers and two observation aircraft, which are conducting surveillance and mapping out the size of the fire.
SA Police has closed Rowney Road at Minniecrow Road, Keilira and Woolumbool Road at Marcollat. It is expected that these road closures will be in place for some time.
