Multiple warning messages for Kersbrook fire

ISSUED FOR KERSBROOK

CFS advises that the Watts Gully Road, Kersbrook fire has two active warning messages in place.

The fire is currently south of Watts Gully Road and west of Deloraine Road near the Warren Conservation Park and Mount Crawford Forest.

There is an Emergency Warning in place for areas to the north, south and east of the fire, including Cromer, Mount Crawford and Forreston. This warning relates to the red warning area included in the message. If you are in this area, it is too late to leave.

There is also a Watch and Act Message in place for the same fire. People within the yellow Watch and Act area need to be aware that this is a fast moving fire. The CFS advises that people within this area need to check and follow their bushfire survival plan. If your plan is to leave, now is the time. The yellow Watch and Act area includes Mount Pleasant, Birdwood and Springton.

Check for safe routes before leaving. Bushfire Safer Places are the best option to re-locate to. The wider metropolitan area of Adelaide is a Bushfire Safer Place. The towns of Lobethal, Mannum and Mount Barker are also Safer Places. All Safer Places are listed and mapped on the CFS website. https://www.cfs.sa.gov.au/site/prepare_for_a_fire/bushfire_safer_places.jsp

To ensure your safety and that of firefighters and other emergency personnel who are working in the area, please do not enter the area.

This fire is likely to be a protracted incident and people in the wider area should consider the options within their Bushfire Survival Plan, potentially for several days.
