The SA Country Fire Service (CFS) is currently responding to a grass and scrub fire on Dalkeith Road, Kudla.

Approximately 40 CFS volunteer firefighters on 10 trucks, supported by 12 MFS firefighters on 3 trucks, quickly halted the spread of the fire. Ground crews were supported by aerial resources, including both firebombing and observation aircraft.

The fire burnt approximately 2 hectares of grass and scrubland before being contained. The fire burnt in and around several glasshouses, some of which were impacted and will continue to produce smoke for some time.

Firefighters will remain on scene throughout the afternoon to fully extinguish hotspots and ensure the area is safe.

SA Police are in attendance and road closures are in place around the fireground for community safety. Access may be restricted until roads are deemed safe by emergency services. For more information about road closures visit https://traffic.sa.gov.au/
