Macclesfield Fire

The CFS continues responding to a grass fire near Lisa Court at Macclesfield in the Mount Lofty Ranges, South Australia.

CFS firefighters on approximately 21 trucks will remain on scene today working to extinguish hotspots. Whilst some rain has fallen over the fireground, there remains a large amount of work to be done by firefighters to completely extinguish and mop up this fire to ensure the area remains safe.

Some smoke may continue to be seen over Strathalbyn Road and Bugle Range Road.

Some restrictions may be in place on roads in the area. Continue to monitor at: traffic.sa.gov.au

Emergency services may be working on and around other roads in the area. If you need to travel on roads in the area, please take care and drive to the local conditions.

The fire cause is yet to be determined and Fire Investigators will be attending once it is safe to do so.

This is an active fireground and where possible the community is encouraged to stay away. This includes the use of drones which can be extremely dangerous to aviation operations..
