Hay stack fire at Monarto South
ISSUED FOR MONARTO SOUTH
The SA Country Fire Service remain on scene at a large hay stack fire of approximately 500 bales and will continue to do so overnight.
The fire is continuing to produce a large amount of smoke over the area, particularly near the Old Princes Highway.
The hay stack has been significantly reduced in size, but further breaking down and extinguishing of it will continue overnight.
The community are reminded to drive with care on the Old Princes Highway due to smoke and Emergency Service vehicles working in the area.
There is currently no threat to the community however, as a precaution anyone nearby who suffer from respiratory or cardiac conditions may wish to stay indoors with all doors and windows closed.
