BUSHFIRE UPDATE FOR MONTACUTE FIRE
ISSUED FOR MONTACUTE IN THE MOUNT LOFTY RANGES
A scrub fire which started on Montacute Road at Montacute late last night continues to burn. The fire is burning in steep terrain which is making access for fire crews difficult.
Whilst the spread of the fire has been halted, the fire is not contained and there is significant work required, including extinguishing hot spots and strengthening of containment lines.
CFS and DEW crews continue operating to strengthen control lines through constructing mineral earth breaks and extinguishing hot spots. With the weather forecast for the following days the fire will continue to pose a risk to public safety.
