Montacute Fire Update
ISSUED FOR MONTACUTE
At around 1:15pm this afternoon, crews from the Country Fire Service (CFS), Metropolitan Fire Service (MFS) and Department for Environment and Water (DEW) responded to reports of a grass fire in Black Hill Conservation Park, directly adjacent Montacute Road at Montacute.
Upon arrival, crews found a small fire burning slowly in grass. With the assistance of firefighting aircraft, the fire was quickly controlled and burnt around 30-40 square metres.
CFS and MFS crews have left the scene, and DEW will remain on site to extinguish any remaining hotspots.
Investigations have determined that the cause of the fire was accidental.
