Mount Torrens grass fire
Issued for Mount Torrens, Charleston, and Woodside in the Adelaide Hills.
The CFS is responding to a grass fire south of Mount Torrens in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia.
Approximately 40 CFS volunteer firefighters, in a joint response with National Parks and Wildlife SA and Farm Fire Units, have contained the fire. They were supported by aircraft, including firebombers and observational aircraft.
CFS firefighters have prevented the fire from spreading to nearby townships and properties.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined and Fire Investigators will attend the scene later today.
CFS firefighters are securing the area containing heavy timber, and they will remain on the scene for some time to actively monitor and extinguish hot spots.
Smoke may be visible in the area for some time, and visibility may be reduced. To ensure your safety and that of firefighters and other emergency personnel who are working in the area, please do not enter the area unless necessary.
