Nairne Fire
Issued for NAIRNE near Blakiston in the Mount Lofty Area.
The CFS is responding to a fire in a vineyard at Nairne near Blakiston in the Mount Lofty Ranges in South Australia.
Approximately 50 CFS volunteers on ten trucks, supported by MFS crews, responded to the fire at about 7:30pm last night.
Three specialist Hazardous Materials (HazMat) crews and a CAFS unit are on scene working to extinguish the fire, which is burning in hundreds of treated permapine posts, releasing potentially toxic smoke.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus successfully reduced the spread of fire to adjacent trees and will remain on scene working to extinguish the fire and make the area safe.
SA Ambulance Service are also in attendance supporting firefighters.
