Napperby Scrub and Crop Fire
ISSUED FOR NAPPERBY
The SA Country Fire Service (CFS) is currently attending a fire south of Napperby in the Mid North, approximately 7 kilometres east of Port Pirie, South Australia.
The fire was reported at 2:30pm and burnt approximately 13 hectares in scrub and crop lands.
Approximately 40 CFS volunteer firefighters, supported by fire-bombing aircraft, responded to the fire.
Thanks to the tremendous efforts of these fire fighters and aerial resources, crews were able to contain the fire quickly and save surrounding properties. CFS crews will continue to actively patrol the fire ground to ensure any hot areas are extinguished. The cause of this fire is yet to be determined.
