NEWLAND FIRE
ISSUED FOR NEWLAND
CFS is attending the fire at Harriet Road, Newland. The fire is uncontrolled. Approximately 160 hectares have been burnt. The scrub and grass fire is slowly burning in a southerly direction down both sides of Harriet Road towards East West Two Highway. There is a 'Watch and Act' warning message in place.
There are approximately 13 Appliances, 60 Personnel and 6 Aircraft on scene from CFS and DEW. Crews will continue firefighting operations overnight in order to contain the fire.
Currently there have been no reports of any asset losses. However, numerous structures have been saved through the efforts of firefighters.
