Information Update for the Newland Fire

ISSUED FOR NEWLAND

CFS is in attendance at a fire at Harriet Road, East West One Highway and East West Two Highway, Newland on Kangaroo Island.

The fire is currently contained and has burnt 160 hectares.

There is an Advice Message active for this incident.

CFS and National Parks have 55 personnel and 11 appliances on scene.

Crews will continue to work on the fireground overnight to extinguish any hot spots to ensure that the fire remains contained when a wind change occurs in the early hours of Monday morning.

Playford Highway and Harriet Road
Mount Taylor Road and East West One Highway
Mount Taylor Road and East West Two Highway
Mount Stockdale Road and South Coast Road
Harriet Road and South Coast Road
Crabbs Road and South Coast Road
East West Two Highway and Harriet Road
East West Two Highway and Crabbs Road
East West One Highway and Crabbs Road

The cause of the fire is unknown and Fire Investigators from CFS and SA Police will be attending tomorrow morning.

Multiple assets were saved due to the efforts of the CFS, National Parks and Farm Fire Units.
