Ngarkat - Incident Update
Issued for NGARKAT approximately 4km west of the Ngarkat Highway in the Ngarkat Conservation Park.
The CFS is responding to two scrub fires within the Ngarkat Conservation Park.
CFS volunteers and National Parks and Wildlife Services on approximately 16 trucks are currently working to contain the fires and minimise the impact to Ngarkat Conservation Park. Crews are being supported by aircraft, including observational aircraft and heavy machinery.
Both fires are currently not yet under control. The combined size of the two fires has reached 6,300 ha as at 11am Tuesday 11th March. These fires are expected to burn for a number of days.
These fires do not currently pose any threat to the community, however, they will be visible from some distance. To ensure your safety and that of firefighters and other emergency personnel, together with heavy machinery, who are working in the area, please do not enter the area unless necessary.
Roads are currently open around this incident however this may change at short notice. Continue to monitor road closures at: traffic.sa.gov.au.
