Incident Update
ISSUED FOR NUROM FIRE NEAR CRYSTAL BROOK IN THE MID NORTH
SA CFS Volunteers are currently in attendance at a fire at Nurom near Crystal Brook in the State's Mid North. At approximately 2:45pm crews were alerted to a fire burning in stubble and recently reaped crops on a private property south of Port Pirie.
Approximately 35 firefighters on 11 trucks worked to contain the fire in just under an hour. The firefighters were supported by 4 waterboming aircraft and volunteers from the Port Pirie Airbase. The aircraft completed 16 water drops in total.
The fire has burnt approximately 115 hectares and fightfighters will remain on the fireground for the coming few hours to ensure that the fire is fully extinguished. A smoke advice is in place as smoke will be visible in the area.
