ONKAPARINGA HILLS FIRE

Issued for ONKAPARINGA HILLS near Woodcroft in the southern Mount Lofty Ranges.

The CFS has been actively monitoring a bushfire at Onkaparinga Hills near Woodcroft in the southern Mount Lofty Ranges, South Australia.

CFS volunteers have been on scene overnight working to extinguish the fire and preventing it from spreading to adjacent properties. Fresh CFS crews on 9 trucks are actively monitoring and will remain on scene today. Aircraft will be undertaking an observation flight over the fireground this morning to identify hotspots.

CFS firefighters are securing an area near Education Road, from Singer Drive to Armata Road and south east of the Vines Golf Club.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined and Fire Investigators are currently on scene.

Roads closed due to this incident include: Education Road, from Singer Driver to Armata Road. With local resident access only.

Emergency services are working on and around roads in the area, and motorists are advised to stay away. If you need to travel on roads in the area, please take care and drive to the local conditions.

Smoke is impacting roads in the area, and visibility may be reduced. To ensure your safety and that of firefighters and other emergency personnel who are working in the area, please do not enter the area unless necessary.
