SACFS advises that the fire burning near Owen, approximately 10km southeast of Balaklava township, has been contained.
80 SACFS volunteers in 17 firetrucks are currently on scene, being assisted by multiple Farm Fire Units and aircraft. Crews will be mopping up for several hours.
To ensure your safety and that of firefighters and other emergency personnel who are working in the area, please do not enter the area unless absolutely necessary. Due to the increased traffic on the roads from the fire fighting vehicles, there may be increased dust which could effect visibility.
