INCIDENT UPDATE - POLTALLOCH GRASS FIRE
ISSUED FOR POLTALLOCH
The Country Fire Service (CFS) advises that the Poltalloch fire continues to burn, however no people or property are currently under threat.
Crews are undertaking suppression activities, supported by multiple farm firefighting units.
CFS crews, fire bombing aircraft and farm firefighting units were able to protect multiple houses and a piggery that were under threat prior to the conditions changing.
The fire is still burning, and the CFS has an 'Advice' message in place near Meningie in the state's Upper South East.
Lake Albert Road and Princes Highway north of Meningie are open to motorists, however visibility may be reduced due to smoke in the area.
This fire may continue to produce smoke for some time as heavier timbers, scrub and hay bales have been burnt. CFS crews and fire bombing aircraft will be on scene for some time continuing to mop up the fireground.
