There is a GOING GRASS FIRE at STAMFORD DRIVE near PORT LINCOLN in LOWER EYRE PENINSULA, South Australia.
An Emergency Warning Message has been issued for this fire. Refer to the CFS website for the most up to date warning information.
Approximately 60 CFS volunteer firefighters, DEW, and MFS are currently working on the fireground actively working to extinguish the fire. Multiple appliances are heading to the incident, be mindful when travelling on main roads surrounding Port Lincoln.
They are supported by 6 aircraft, including firebombers and observational aircraft, Operations are also being supported by Police, SES, Ambulance, Council, farm fire units.
This fire may be causing a lot of smoke in the area and members of the community are urged to take care, particularly if driving.
Roads have been closed due to this incident including GRANTALA ROAD, BARLEY ROAD, WESTERN APPROACH ROAD and NOONTINA ROAD. A full list of current road closures is available at https://traffic.sa.gov.au/
At this time it is unknown when roads will be reopened.

For communities in and around the fire area, you should identify your closest Bushfire Safer Place and travel to the area well before the fire threatens your safety.

When identifying your closest Bushfire Safer Place, you must work out your options if your route to this location is threatened by the fire.
When you make the decision to leave it is recommended you stay informed about the STAMFORD DRIVE FIRE and adjust your plan if conditions change.

They may provide minimum levels of protection from radiant heat and should only be used if you are unable to travel to a Bushfire Safer Place.
