PRICE SHED FIRE UPDATE
ISSUED FOR PRICE
CFS advises that a large industrial shed fire containing plastic packaging materials is burning near Reliance Rd, Price on the Northern Yorke Peninsula.
12 CFS crews are currently in attendance with the support of three MFS crews, and will remain at the scene until the fire is fully extinguished. Specialist CFS Hazardous Material crews have been dispatched for atmospheric monitoring, along with an incident support vehicle and a Breathing Apparatus support vehicle.
This structure fire is producing a large amount of potentially hazardous smoke, which is drifting across the township of Price.
Visibility may be reduced; the roads may not be safe and there are emergency vehicles working in the area.
The community are advised to close all windows and doors and stay inside, especially those with respiratory or cardiac conditions. If any member of the public has chronic respiratory issues they are advised to monitor conditions and seek medical assistance if required.
Please do not enter the area unless necessary, for your safety and that of firefighters and other emergency personnel who are working in the area.
