Incident Update for Ravine fire Kangaroo Island

ISSUED FOR RAVINE

The is currently a Bushfire Advice message for the Ravine fire on Kangaroo Island. Milder temperatures are forecast throughout the day however the winds will be relatively strong from the south-southeast. This will likely cause localised flare-ups. Crews are continuing to strengthen control lines and are actively managing hotspots.

The CFS urges both residents and visitors to use extra caution when driving, even on familiar roads, as conditions may be different and fallen trees may be blocking the road. Damaged fences may result in wandering stock.

There are still multiple road closures across the island. Please refer to www.traffic.sa.gov.au for the latest information.

The road from Kingscote to Seal bay via Birchmore Rd and South Coast Rd has now opened for public access.

There is a joint Recovery and CFS meeting at the Parndana Sports Club, Playford Hwy, on Thursday at 7pm. There is a community BBQ beforehand from 6pm, and all members of the public are welcome.

The CFS continues to maintain a presence on the island, so please continue to be vigilant and follow our messaging.
